Local Dawn Redwood, Milled, Dried, and Fabricated into an Office Table Top
Once a project is decided on, its time to pick your lumber. Here is a stack of Dawn Redwood slabs, just out of the kiln. Rough cut and ready to work.
Slabs are surfaced/flattened. Once flat, they can be cut down to the desired size.
Cut to rough size and jointed, boards are placed together to test their fit and look.
Prep to join the boards, a biscuit cutter is used to cut the slots for biscuits.
It is very important to get 100% coverage when gluing a joint.
Even clamp pressure is important for a solid glue joint
Once dried, one last surfacing and flattening on the glued up table top.
